SUMMARY:PRPP - Assessment Course
DESCRIPTION:THIS COURSE IS NOW FULL\, IF YOU WISH TO BE PLACED ON THE WAITING LIST IN CASE OF A CANCELLATION OVER THE WEEKEND PLEASE EMAIL OUR PD CO-ORDINATOR \nCAROLYN EARLE ON C.EARLE@BIGPOND.COM  \nPresented by – Dr Chris Chapparo and Dr Judy Ranka. \nThe PRPP (Perceive Recall Plan Perform) Assessment is a standardised\, client centred\, criterion referenced\, occupational therapy assessment of occupational performance. It is used with clients of any age\, gender\, diagnosis\, or cultural background whose performance is compromised by difficulties with the cognitive demands of occupations. \nThe assessment yields information about performance mastery and cognitive strategy application behaviours. Strategy application behaviours assessed align with dimensions of attention and perception (P)\, learning\, memory and recall (R)\, planning\, decision-making and judgment (P)\, and the capacity to act on decisions and follow-through with plans (P). \nFindings from the PRPP Assessment are then used to plan PRPP intervention where the focus is on developing strategy application behaviours required by everyday tasks and to improve task performance mastery. The PRPP assessment is used internationally and has been translated into several languages. It has established validity in a variety of practice domains including neurology\, mental health\, learning disabilities\, autism\, chronic pain\, HIV-associated neurocognitive disorders\, and dementia.  \nObjectives  \nDescribe the occupational therapy\, neurosciences and educational foundation of the assessment\, and its psychometric properties  \nAssess and score task performance mastery from videotaped examples of client performances using Stage One of the PRPP Assessment  \nAssess and score cognitive strategy application behaviours applied to tasks on dimensions of perceive\, recall\, plan and perform from videotaped examples of client performances using Stage Two of the PRPP Assessment.  \nWrite specific\, measurable mastery and strategy application goals for clients assessed.  \nUse the PRPP Assessment as a client centred outcome measure of occupational performance.  \nUnderstand the implications of assessment findings for occupational therapy intervention.  \n\n\n\nPRPP Assessment Course ( 5 day course )\n\n\nDate\nMonday 23rd May – Friday 27th May\, 2022 \n08:30 – 16:30\n\n\nVenue\nPagoda Conference Room\, Pagoda Resort\, 112 Melville Parade\, Como\n\n\nCost \n  \n  \n \nEarly bird before 31/3/22 \nMember $1050.00 \nRural/remote member $850.00 \nNon-members $2075.00 \nStudent $550.00 \nStandard rate after 31/3/22 \nMember $1350.00 \nRural/remote member $1000.00 \nNon-members $2075.00 \nStudent $650.00\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRefreshments\nWelcome Tea/Coffee\, Morning tea\, lunch and afternoon tea will be provided.\n\n\n\nBook Online\nIf you prefer booking offline\, you can use the registration form below. \n**PD Registration Form 2021 \nPay via invoice options are available using the ‘Book Online’ function below. SUMMARY:PRPP - Intervention Course
\nThe Perceive\, Recall\, Plan & Perform Intervention Course is designed for use by occupational therapists who have completed a PRPP Assessment course. The intervention approach aims to improve task performance mastery by addressing the specific cognitive strategy application behaviours identified through PRPP assessment as most impacting on mastery. \nInstructional methods used to address these behaviours incorporate cues and prompts that align with specific perceive\, recall\, plan and perform processing operations and preferences. The efficacy of this approach has been observed in children and adults with a variety of diagnoses and conditions that impact on everyday cognition and demonstrated through research with adults with traumatic brain impairment and children with social and behavioural difficulties.  \n Objectives  \nCompare and Contrast PRPP Intervention with other forms of occupational therapy task-focused methods  \nSelect critical strategy application behaviours to address in therapy  \nSet measurable occupational performance goals for task mastery and strategy application  \nDesign a detailed plan to build strategy application behaviours required to improve or maintain performance mastery.  \n\n\n\nPRPP Intervention Course ( 4 day course )\n\n\nDate\nMonday 30th May – Thursday 2nd June\, 2022 \n08:30 – 16:30\n\n\nVenue\nPagoda Conference Room\, Pagoda Resort\, 112 Melville Parade\, Como\n\n\nCost \n  \n  \n \nEarly bird before 31/3/22 \nMember $840.00 \nRural/remote member $680.00 \nNon-members $1660.00 \nStudent $440.00 \nStandard rate after 31/3/22 \nMember $1080.00 \nRural/remote member $800.00 \nNon-members $1660.00 \nStudent $520.00\n\n\nRefreshments\nWelcome Tea/Coffee\, Morning tea\, lunch and afternoon tea will be provided.\n\n\n\n  \nBook Online\nIf you prefer booking offline\, you can use the registration form below. \n**PD Registration Form 2021 \nPay via invoice options are available using the ‘Book Online’ function below.
