DESCRIPTION:About the Presenter \nDanielle is a Project Lead with National Disability Services WA currently working with Department of Health WA on improving the hospital and discharge experience for people with disability.  Danielle is also the founder of Paper Planes Support Coordination\, a social enterprise to support people to make the most of their NDIS plans. \nDanielle began her career in Health Promotion where she went on to develop a dynamic corporate health organisation.  In 2015 Danielle was honoured as a West Australian 40 under 40 business leader for her work in this field.  For the past 8 years Danielle has been leading innovations and projects in the disability sector\, assisting organisation in transitioning to the opportunities provided by the National Disability Insurance Scheme. \nDanielle volunteers on a range of community initiatives that support vulnerable populations\, with a focus on women’s and children’s interests. \nThis workshop is aimed at Occupational Therapists and will cover :- \nAssistive Technology Pathways \nAssistive technology(AT) comes in a vast range of different shapes and sizes and colours. From power wheelchairs to communication boards to screen reading software\, there is an assistive technology to assist you in just about every area of your life. From education and employment to transport and navigating the world around you\, the right assistive technology with the right supports at the right time can be a life changer. \nThe list of available AT is long with hundreds of different products.
