DESCRIPTION:Due to popular requests WAOTA presents a half-day course on Vocational Rehabilitation. \nWorkplace rehabilitation is the process of helping an injured worker recover and return to work following an injury or illness. Otherwise known as Vocational Rehabilitation is a process which enables persons with functional\, psychological\, developmental\, cognitive\, and emotional disabilities or impairments to overcome barriers in accessing\, maintaining\, or returning to employment or other useful and meaningful occupation. \nVocational Rehabilitation is a set of services designed to assist individuals with disabilities to become self-sufficient \nThis course aims to provide an in-depth view of areas of vocational rehabilitation; \n\nCase Management\nJob Task Analysis\nRisk Assessments\nHierarchy of goals (Same Employer/New Employer)\nSpecific Services\nBarriers to Vocational Rehabilitation\nVocational assessments/counselling\nWork trial canvassing\nWork trial negotiations and RTWP development\nWorksite reviews\nFunctional training\nErgonomic Assessments\nJob seeking/reverse marketing\n\nThis course is tailored to any Allied Health professional looking to gain a basic understanding of Vocational Rehabilitation services\, the benefits and key deliverables. \nPresented by : Hannah Thong \nHannah is the Regional Team Leader at WorkFocus Australia. She is an Occupational Therapist and has extensive experience in Vocational Rehabilitation. \nShe has a passion for advocating for and educating people about occupational therapy and the value it can have in improving a person’s quality of life. \nCurrently her role provides Injury Management advice and providing vocational rehabilitation services as a Team Leader with WorkFocus Australia. She can comfortably manage a varied caseload of clients\, ensuring each client has the highest level of client centred care and support. She also manages a team of Rehabilitation Consultants that service Regional WA.
