Salary:  HSO Level P2 $116,406 – $133,542 p.a. pro rata (inclusive of base salary and 10% superannuation) plus generous salary packaging and additional allowances as outlined in the award where appropriate

This is a Permanent Full Time appointment at 76 hours per fortnight, however part time/jobshare may be considered.

Whilst this selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy, it may also be used to fill other “similar” vacancies throughout the health service. In addition to this, should the successful applicant decline or vacate the advertised vacancy, then the next most suitable applicant may also be selected from this process. Both of these options remain valid for a period of six (6) months from when the authorised delegate endorses the recruitment decision.

Position Profile: As part of a multidisciplinary team the Senior Occupational Therapist plans, implements, coordinates and evaluates Occupational Therapy services to patients within the clinical area of Adult and Older Adult Mental Health Inpatient Unit using advanced Occupational Therapy clinical practice skills. Plans, implements and evaluates patient safety and quality of care.  Supervises Occupational Therapy staff and support staff in the unit/clinical area, coordinates duties and managers performance.  Practices as a Senior Occupational Therapist and ensures practice is in accordance to the Occupational Therapy professional and registration requirements, standards, codes and guidelines and SMHS policies and guidelines.
