Many of you are moving on in 2019 and WA OT Association would like to say that we appreciate all the work involved in coordinating these important groups. Various Interest Groups run throughout the year and throughout Western Australia. A list of those Interest Groups who are affiliated with the WA Occupational Therapy Association with the current contact details of the convenor/s is below:
ACUTE SERVICES INTEREST GROUP
Acute Services Interest group are currently looking for new convenors. If your interested or require more information, then please contact WAOTA office [email protected] for more information.
ALBANY OT INTEREST GROUP
The 2019 Albany OT Interest Group committee members are Kylie Haslam (Convenor), Darcy Ward (Secretary) and Russell Harken (Treasurer). OTs and students from various specialty areas attend our meetings with a focus on professional development and networking. This year we will also be looking to organise some PD events locally in Albany. The Albany OTIG meet bi-monthly at 12-1pm during the week at various venues. CANCER & CHRONIC CONDITIONS (CCC) INTEREST GROUP
The Cancer and Chronic Conditions (CCC) interest group has been providing a variety of education sessions on a range of topics, with guest speakers presenting insightful education in their areas of expertise. The CCC interest group combines two previously existing interest groups, the Cancer and Palliative Care Interest Group and Chronic Diseases Interest Group. DOT(WA) Inc.
MOU Between DOT(WA) Inc. and WAOTA
The DOT(WA) Inc. Interest Group meets at 9am on the first Friday of every month in the conference room at the State Child Developmental Centre, Rheola St, West Perth. Each meeting consists of a business / networking meeting followed by a PD. Interest group members from around the state are invited to attend or link-in via videoconference for the PD session. HAND INTEREST GROUP
Interest Group Membership is free for WA Occupational Therapy Association members, with proof of membership card, and $20 for annual interest group membership for non members, payable on the first meeting attended of the year. For general interest group enquiries please contact [email protected]
NEUROSCIENCES INTEREST GROUP
The NSIG is open to all OTs and OT students. If you are able to present /facilitate a session or want further information on a topic or issue, please contact Therese Trouchet (Convenor). Any information on courses, research, information in Neuro or jobs will be circulated to OTs on the NSIG mailing list.

OT SERVICES IN THE HOME INTEREST GROUP
The OT services in the home interest group aims to provide OTs with a forum to develop networks, share information, review new technologies and latest developments related to equipment and modifications in the home, as well as provide support for issues/ concerns raised by members. Topics discussed vary and members are able to contribute to the agenda. The group meets on the third Thursday bi-monthly at 7:30am – 8:30am. The meetings are mostly held in the OT Department at Osborne Park Hospital with the exception of occasional site visits. The meetings are free to attend for WA Occupational Therapy Association members however non-members are required to pay a fee of $10 for each meeting they attend.
