Annual OT Week Breakfast
Date: Friday 28th October 2022
Time: 7am – 9am
Location: Pagoda Resort & Spa, 112 Melville Parade Como
Keynote Speakers:
Emma Gee – OT and Stroke Survivor
As an Occupational Therapist and Stroke Survivor, Emma will relay her own journey to date. She will share her insights as a therapist and her newfound client perspective as a recipient of many of the services and care in managing her own chronic condition. She will draw on her own experience to highlight the importance of improving person-centred practice and adopting a more consumer-driven approach.
The keynote will enable the participants to reflect on their own practices and determine areas that may impact on the ability to be person-centric in their roles. In facilitating the session, Emma will refer to her memoir – “Reinventing Emma” to reinforce her messages. She will ultimately challenge the participants to “really put themselves in another’s shoes” aiming to improve community awareness, education and person-centred care.
Annette Barton OAM – Lessons learnt from OT through the ages
Annette is Head of the Department Occupational Therapy at Sir Charles Gairdner and Osborne Park Hospitals.
