New Measures to Support NDIS Providers through COVID-19

The Minister for the National Disability Insurance Scheme, Stuart Robert, has announced new measures to be put in place through the COVID-19 outbreak, including additional support for registered providers.

To support NDIS providers’ business viability during this time, financial assistance will be available to support retention of workers. This includes a one-month advance payment, based on the monthly average of claims made through the portal over the last three months.

To cover the additional costs of service delivery, a 10 per cent loading will also be added to price limits for certain supports, for up to six months.

The NDIA has increased the flexibility of the cancellation claiming policy to allow providers to claim 100 per cent of a service cancelled by the participant, instead of 90 per cent as per the current policy. The definition of ‘short notice cancellation’ will also be broadened.

NDIS offices close

As of tomorrow, Tuesday 24 March, all NDIS Offices will be closed to the public. Services are being provided via phone, email and webchat.

We are working to make sure NDIS participants get the support they need. Participants should:

  • phone 1800 800 110 if they need to talk to a planner, make changes to their plans or are having difficulty getting services due to COVID-19
  • email enquiries@ndis.gov.au if they have any questions
  • use the webchat on the contact page of the NDIS website to talk to us online.
