Research & Development
WAOTA is passionate about increasing the knowledge base and capacity of our profession and has developed the Research and Development Portfolio and sub-committee in recognition of this. Clinical questions arise from practice within the domains of occupational therapy that include performance components of a task, occupational performance and/or role performance. In order to provide safe, ethical and effective assessments and interventions, which make the best use of resources and will result in optimal performance, practice that has a sound underpinning of evidence is essential.
WAOTA fosters and promotes innovation through research and the development of our profession by providing financial support through grants for successful applicants, a sharing of knowledge through forums such as the Conference and regular research symposiums. Additionally, research is promoted through our website and regular newsletter which helps to share this important information.
If you are interested in becoming involved in the Research & Development Committee, please contact WAOTA for more information.
