Message from Services Australia: New myGov App

Your patients can use the new myGov app digital wallet when presenting their Centrelink concession and health cards.

When people present their Centrelink concession and health care cards in the app, you may see a QR code. You can scan this code using the myGov app to check the card is genuine and valid. This feature helps protect these cards from fraud and theft.

Scanning QR codes

Providers can only use the myGov app to verify items in the wallet. Follow these steps to scan a QR code:

  1. Open the myGov app and select the QC scanner icon from the Welcome screen. You do not need to sign in.
  2. Allow camera permission to scan the item by selecting I agree.
  3. Scan the item you want to verify. Items will be described as valid or invalid.

If you need help using the myGov app or signing in, contact myGov or your services.
