Dr Amy Hodges is an Occupational Therapist with more than 6 years clinical experience in private practice, government and not for profit organisations predominantly in the community disability paediatric sector. Amy’s work in a community based school aged intervention service piqued her interest in the area of autism and inclusive education. Amy’s doctoral studies involved developing and evaluating the feasibility, fidelity and preliminary effectiveness of a school based intervention aimed at improving the school participation and feelings of connectedness of primary school students on the autism spectrum.

On Tuesday 5th April at 6.30pm, Amy will be sharing a brief overview of the intervention (entitled In My Shoes) and findings from the feasibility study conducted across 6 mainstream primary schools in Perth in 2020. Amy will share the benefits and challenges of conducting research in schools and factors that support and hinder the feasibility of school based interventions. This webinar may be of particular interest to Occupational Therapists working in schools or with students on the autism spectrum or with a particular interest in inclusive education.
