OT in Autism PD – WAOTA Student Committee 30/3

WAOTA Students are excited to welcome Mathew Johnson and Jema Kerrich from Autism Association of Western Australia as our presenters for the first PD of the year!
Mathew Johnson is the manager of school aged therapy and clinical services at Autism Association of Western Australia (11 years and counting!) and has worked as an occupational therapist in the disability field for most of his career. Mathew enjoys being able to input into the growth and development of services, manage the challenge of the NDIS rollout in WA and support therapy staff to become excellent professionals.
Jema Kerrich is an occupational therapist who initially worked in private practice paediatrics with a focus on fine/gross motor skills and handwriting. Jema is now a key therapist in school aged therapy and clinical services at Autism Association of WA and has worked there for 3 years. Jema loves being able to assist children and adolescents to live their life to the fullest and upskill their family, school and community supports to facilitate this. Jema is involved in working on emotional regulation, sensory regulation, understanding their autism, motor skills, social skills and play.
