Learning to embrace technology and smart devices as a powerful resource in your OT toolkit

A smart device can be a valuable tool and quick to access, low cost AT option. This session aims to show how simple technology can be and aims to encourage OTs to embrace using it in rehabilitation. This presentation will show how you can use features, voice assistants to turn your device into: a talking book player, notebook, navigator, object identifier, personal organiser, computer and reader of hardcopy print. Smart phone technology helps a range of issues from low vision, dyslexia, memory issues or reading issues. This session will briefly cover basic accessibility features, inbuilt into phones, use of voice assistants and will focus on specific applications we know are helpful for people with a disability. This session will also be an opportunity to share resources and knowledge.
